Style Resolutions | 2017

Hello lovelies!

First off, Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays! Mine was pretty low key, but it was so nice having some vacation time during the holiday season for once.. #RetailLife

I know that today is Street Fashion Friday, but I have a whole new post for all of you that I wanted to share this week.

Have you ever began a new year and/or new chapter of your life & felt like you needed to spruce up your style? Even if you just wanted to improve one tiny aspect of your wardrobe? That’s what I want to talk about in today’s post. My style resolutions for 2017.

#1 – Pump Up the Color

If you follow me on Instagram, you get to see my everyday outfit picks. My go-to colors tend to be black, white, gray, & denim/chambray. I don’t really take advantage of all the gorgeous hues I could be experimenting with! We all love our nuetrals & basics because they go with everything.. but now it’s time to add some more of the “everything”. I made a collage of some pieces I loved that would definitely brighten up my day to day outfits.

(Dorthy Perkins Clutch $17, Wet Seal iPhone Cover, Boohoo Choker $5, Net-A-Porter Beanie $56, Billabong Tank $23, Romwe.com Sweatshirt $10, Miss Selfridge Denim Shorts $23, Yoins.com Boots $54)

There are tons of lovely color trends coming out this year as well as artistic patterns. Not sure which ones are going to be standing out? Here are the 2017 Pantone Colors of the Year:

Spring/Summer

Fall/Winter

If you want to add more color to your style, I suggest figuring out whether you’re a Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter. Your season will depend on your skin tone, hair, & eye color. When you wear the right colors for your season, your skin will look more radiant, your teeth whiter, your eyes brighter, & you’ll feel more confident. Take this quiz I found online for your personal color analysis.

#2 – Brand Less, Save More

I know I’m not the only person who has gotten sucked into buying something because it had a name brand. People (especially in the fashion industry) tend to feel the need to represent big brands because they show prestige & are well known. However, this doesn’t help the growth of smaller companies that could have phenomenal potential & quality products.

It will take some trial & error, but there are plenty of fantastic brands out there that offer beautiful garments at a fraction of the name brand prices. I won’t have the name to show off, but I will be saving some serious moolah while supporting smaller companies. My last purse was from Tshirts and Jeans. Never heard of them? I’ve gotten more compliments on that purse than any other name brand I’ve owned & at a third of the cost.

Let the brand exploration begin! Saving money is a huge goal in general this year for me.

#3 – Get Floral

Some mega trends carrying into this year & this Spring specifically are florals & embroidery. I have been pretty darn sporty, comfy, & casual the passed couple months, so I wouldn’t mind spreading some feminine flare across my wardrobe. Lately, I’ve seen some pretty floral patterns incorporated into urban style. This is the perfect combination of comfort & trend with a touch of femininity. I’ve found some examples of what would blend nicely into my current style..

(Withchic.com Embroidered Scarf $17, SheIn Crop Sweatshirt $14, Accessorize Watch $35, Kate Spade Wallet $78, Lane Crawford Bikini Top $150)
I realize some of those last items are a little on the pricey side, but we have to splurge on some things.. am I right?! The denim shorts in my first collage would also fall under the floral category for a great price.

Well, everyone, those are my main style resolutions for 2017. I would loveΒ to hear your thoughts on this post in the comments below. Also, share one of your own style resolutions with me! Fashion will always repeat itself, but our personal style is ever-evolving.

Thank you all so much for reading & Until next time xoxo

Street Fashion Friday | Oh So Cozy

Street Fashion Friday | Oh So Cozy

Hello there, beauties!

It’s quite gloomy (but of course still warm) here in SoCal, so I’ve been getting the comfy & cuddly feels. What does everyone think of when they think of cozy? … Blankets, hot cocoa, and sweaters!

I absolutely adore a comfortable sweater. And who doesn’t?! It’s practically a wardrobe requirement during Fall. Plus, it’ll easily hide that food baby from all the pumpkin pie I’ll be eating. 😏

A sweater is one of the best things to throw on when it’s chilly. If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen the outfits I wore when I recently went to Chicago. My favorite look was a lace-up sweater paired with some workout pants & sneakers. It’s that easy! Still think you’re looking too plain? Add a bold lip & some killer sunnies.

Here are some chic, yet cozy style examples!

So many textures & knits to choose from! As always, see what works for you! You can choose to make it sporty, preppy, clean, or edgy. Where your hair in a top knot & add some delicate accessories for a sleek & feminine touch.. or sling on a backpack, ripped boyfriend jeans, & a baseball cap to dress it down. It’s all about what makes you comfortable on the inside as well as the outside.

Those are my SFF style tips for today! I hope you all have a fun & safe Halloween weekend!

Until next time xoxo

Hey there, lovelies! πŸ’™

It’s a beautiful Fall day! Still roasting in SoCal, but the nights areπŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

Today on SFF, I wanted to feature a hue that is a huge Pantone color for Fall/Autumn.. Airy Blue. I love this tint of blue because it also pairs nicely with warmer Fall colors! Very cool, yet still light & vibrant.

Here are some stylish ways to make the most of your Autumn blues!

What’s amazing about Airy Blue is that it works for ALL skin tones! There is not one person that this shade would look horrible on.

Is there another Pantone color for Fall 2016 that is your favorite? Leave a comment on this post, and maybe I’ll do a post on another one! I love giving people the tools to make more style options for themselves. It’s all about inspiration & finding what works for you!

Thank you all so much for visiting & I’ll see you again soon. Enjoy your weekend! xoxo

Street Fashion Friday | Transition to Fall

Street Fashion Friday | Transition to Fall

Hey there lovelies! Fall is officially here! 🍁

This SFF is centered around taking those warm weather favorites & adding a little Fall flavor. Even tho it still feels like Summer in SoCal, I wanted to give some tips for those who are struggling to find some style balance while things start to cool down.

Here are some basic tips for transitioning into Fall fashion:

  1. Trade your sandals for closed toes flats, sneakers, or boots. It’s a simple change, but makes all the difference!
  2. Play around with textures. Whether it’s a suede skirt or a cashmere sweater, add a bit of chunky knit or other fun fabrics to your style mix.
  3. Add a removable layer. This one is a no-brainer.. Scarves, cardigans, tights.. This way, if the weather is still on the warm side, you can add a layer in the morning or evening when it gets a bit chilly.
  4. Switch to warmer tones. Burnt orange, wine, mustard yellow, camel.. These colors just radiate Fall feels!
  5. Hats are your friend. Don’t be afraid of them! Go to a store & try on some different styles. Beanies are always my go-to choice. Just adds that cozy vibe to top off an outfit!

Here are some photo examples to help you apply these tips. Don’t be afraid to put your own spin on them!

I am in love with these looks! Makes me want to experiment with my style. They make transitioning to Fall look so effortless, don’t they?!

You can look just as chic by following these simple tips! Mix, mash, & mesh different elements together until you find the right fit for you :)

Thank you all so much for reading & enjoy your weekend! Until next time xoxo
